My Journey to Online Marketing
Hello, I´m Pammela
About ten years ago, I was still working at Holland Casino a job I enjoyed for 22 years. Online marketing? That wasn’t really on my radar yet. But in 2014, I decided to make a change. Together with my partner, we started a business in slow juices and detox programs. It was exciting and full of challenges, because besides production, we also needed a full marketing strategy.
The startup budget mainly went to production, renting the premises, and a custom-built webshop. And believe it or not: that webshop cost €30,000. Less was left for marketing, even though it’s one of the most crucial parts of your business. Because without marketing? No customers.
We started advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Google Ads. At first, we outsourced it. But soon, I decided to learn it myself. I dove into ads, website management, and everything that comes with it.. While production and customer communication just kept going. It was intense, but a powerful learning curve. I discovered where my true strengths lie, and where I need support.
Lesson learned:
Own your website. Always.
After four years, we decided to take a new direction and moved to Portugal to organize detox retreats. I built the website entirely myself. That was a conscious choice after our earlier experience. Because yes, having a site made doesn’t always mean it’s truly yours. When the old developer quit, we lost the webshop too. That’s a mistake you only make once. So I learned how to build websites myself.
Something Beautiful Happened
I discovered that marketing is truly my passion. I love the creativity, the constant learning, and the fast-paced developments. Especially now with the rise of AI. At the same time, I’ve learned that you don’t have to do everything yourself. Focus on your strengths, and outsource what drains your energy. Because where your attention goes, growth follows.
That mindset led to the start of Starke Web Solutions. No overpriced marketing packages, just real quality. My strength lies in client contact and translating your ideas to our team.
